2023 DREXEL CHARRETTE

2023 Drexel Design Charrette with Howeler + Yoon

Project Forthcoming

This Charrette, set for April 2023, will be led by the award-winning design firm Howeler + Yoon to envision activities and spaces that highlight FloatLab and the Schuylkill River waterfront at Bartram’s Garden. Located in Southwest Philadelphia, Bartram’s Garden is a historic landscape, home to Sankofa Community Farm, and host to a variety of public and community programs. FloatLab is a new artspace and floating classroom designed by Howeler + Yoon that allows visitors to engage directly with the river at eye level to foster ecological awareness and engagement. The Charrette will bring together interdisciplinary teams of students to imagine possibilities for Bartram’s and FloatLab across a variety of sites and scales. Students will consider how to connect the neighborhood to the waterfront, enhancing the sense of place and activity within the context of Philadelphia.
